Overview

We have a rare opportunity for a charismatic and talented Kent-based professional musician to join our team to take over existing choirs in or near Canterbury, Thanet, Broadstairs, Deal, Gravesend & Sittingbourne. This a rewarding position musically. We were the first contemporary choir in the UK and remain the most popular and high-profile. We have won three Guinness World Records, achieved two top-twenty albums, and been the subject of a three-part ITV1 documentary The Choir That Rocks.

Applicants should have very competent piano and vocal skills and a charismatic and energetic personality. There is no need to have led choirs before but commitment and self-motivation is paramount. The role is a fulfilling one, with the chance to change people’s lives through our music, performance and teaching.

The ability to work enthusiastically as a team player is key (no divas please!) Successful applicants will join the current team of more than 60 friendly, supportive and outgoing musicians who are already enjoying their career with the UK’s favourite contemporary choir. Opportunities to perform on stage and on TV come with the job. You would work a 3/4 day week leading choirs learning popular songs with 1 additional regular training day per month and work 30-35 weeks per year with our long holidays. Arrangements and many other resources and support are provided. Your choirs would mostly take place on weekday evenings and you would be leading the choir members (who will become like an extended family to you) to concerts locally and nationally.

You also have the chance for career development in specialist areas once you are settled as a choir leader.
